In October 2014, a new Rolex boutique was opened on Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona. The window displays were decorated with vast scenery inspired by the Catalan artist Gaudí and with representative elements from the city of Barcelona.
The boutique’s decor includes panels of Aqua glass with a wave pattern specially hand-made for the Rolex store, “Ivory Cream” marble and aged, bronze-colored upholstery. The entrance is adorned with a Murano glass chandelier, and the gold-colored Rolex crown in the entrance and on the walls welcomes its visitors.
The essence of the brand, inspired by water and the sea, is reflected throughout the decor with the purpose of evoking the creation - in 1926 - of the first waterproof wristwatch: the Rolex Oyster.
