The motifs that are so much a part of TOUS’ DNA, such as the flower, the star, the moon, the heart and the iconic bear, are crafted with colored gemstones to create the jewelry in the Glory collection. Pieces in sterling silver, silver vermeil and 18kt gold, as well as innovative materials such as black IP steel. In this collection, we use different jewelry-making techniques, such as microcasting and electroforming. The first — microcasting — is the most utilized method in the TOUS workshops and in the jewelry sector in general; liquid wax is injected into a rubber mold and, once cold, it is covered with plaster. The wax is then replaced by metal that is injected to produce the desired shape. Electroforming, on the other hand, allows for the creation of larger, lightweight, high-quality pieces with very little need for soldering by means of a chemical electrolytic process that works with the particles of different precious metals.
