GLASS

Glass is a very versatile material used in jewelry since antiquity. At TOUS, we use two types of handcrafted glass: Murano glass and borosilicate glass.

1. Murano Glass

Original from this region of Italy, it is a glass of multiple colors and great beauty. It is usually worked by hand with a blowtorch, blown, stamped in a mold or with an oven. The Mille-Fiore print is the most characteristic, creating flower shapes with very diverse colors and silhouettes. It is a delicate material and can sometimes be difficult to work with in the world of jewelry, which is why processes such as “fusing” were created to obtain better results. Minifiore and Cocktail are a perfect example of collections created with Murano Glass.

2. Borosilicate

It is a usually transparent glass that is found in different colors and shades. It is characterized by its resistance, superior to that of conventional glass, and although the optimal work process is blowing, it is also worked with a blowtorch, oven, stamping and fusing. The glass rings from the Luz collection are made with Burosilicate.
